Chinese Culture & Movie Center
Near the famed National Place Museum.  The Culture and Movie Center is built like a town from old China with reconstruction of building from different dynasties.  This is where movies are actually made.

World of Yesterday
Re-created traditional village.  Displays of ancient lifestyles offer fascinating glimpses of Chinese history and culture.  Folk arts demonstrations on Sundays and holidays.

Taipei City Zoo
Taipei's huge new zoo, in the rolling hills of suburban Mucha, is one of the largest in Asia and is comparable to San Diego's world-famous zoo.  Animals from around the world live in humane "natural" habitats with relative freedom of movement behind low walls or deep ditches.  Cages are employed only for agile, ferocious, or flighty residents.

Window on China
An hour south of Taipei, you can tour China's Great Wall and Peking's Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven all in one stop.  The place is Window on China, which has 90 perfect miniature reproductions of the best know structures in both Taiwan and mainland China.   Window on China also has a classical Chinese garden, restaurants, snack bars, a tea house, and souvenir shops.
